

Weapon Concept Artist
Type: Contract
SkyReach Studio is preparing content for an unannounced title and we are looking for a talented concept artist to help bring our vision to light. We are looking for an artist that can create stylized high fidelity works of unique weapons for use in our 3D modeling pipeline as well as help design and conceptualize the ideas of our characters into a more concrete visual.
Your responsibilities as a concept artist would be :

Working alongside the producer/game designer

Researching concept subjects, styles & genres
-
Creating detailed key designs from a written brief
-
Presenting a series of drafts of the concepts for approval
-
Responding positively & proactively to feedback
-
Drawing up specification sheets, establishing dimensions & details for others to follow
-
Working to a schedule
-
Using traditional & technological approaches to creating designs in a 3D environment
-
Continuing to develop concepts & designs for the duration of the production process
Job Description
Skills and requirements
The following are requirements that we have of our concept artists:
-
An easily readable portfolio with examples of weapon concept art.

Strong drawing skills, with a specialization in concept design of weapons such as swords, guns etc.

Ability to draw in a variety of styles
-
Able to draw from written briefs
-
High-level attention to detail
-
Solid understanding of visual language - texture, color, dimension, scale, perspective, shade, composition, depth of field, proportion, spatial awareness, etc
-
Good communication skills, ability to explain concepts and support artistic choices
-
Responsive and clear in communication.

Skilled in technical drawing
-
Excellent time management skills, ability to consistently meet deadlines
-
Team player, skilled at working independently
-
Knowledge of the animation and/or game development processes
